Coach Tony has excitedly arranged the Abingdon Eagles Walking Basketball team's first ever, friendly, away game.
The game will be played on neutral territory in Luton, Bedfordshire against Bishop Stortford's, Strollers this Sunday 8th September.
Tony (player/coach) with his team of Jules, Simon, Sharon, Paul, Derek, Roger, Tom, John, Monica and Mike trained on Monday and are feeling ready and prepped and fully kitted out for their big game.
Whilst this is the team's first 'walking basketball' game, the players are not strangers to competitive games and have played highly competitive basketball at full speed previously, as well as netball and other sports.
We are so proud of you all and cannot wait to see photos of you all repping the orange and blue and hear the stories of fun and fab finishes from around the hoop.
On behalf of everyone at Abingdon Eagles we (s)wish The Eagles Walking Basketball Team all the very best and we look forward to being able to attend a first walking basketball home game in Abingdon soon and share with you some Eagle sideline spirit!
If you or a friend/family member fancies having a go at a walking basketball session with them, you wont regret it. Drop by Monday lunchtimes, 1-2pm at The White Horse Leisure Centre, Audlett Drive Abingdon. You'll be made truly welcome, you'll have a great time, make new friends, learn new skills and polish up old(er) ones.
Go Eagles! #flyinghigh
